Questions about the Refinishing Process
- Why should I consider refinishing? Show Answer
- Do you offer a warranty? Show Answer Yes! On residential work we offer a 10-year warranty for bathtubs, wall tile and fiberglass units. This warranty covers workmanship, peeling or other failure of adhesion of the new coating.
Commercial work comes with a 1-year warranty.
Any warranty is for the property owner and/or the purchaser of our services and begins from the time the work is completed. We have a 1-year limited warranty on the following:
- Repairs below the water level line on fiberglass bathtubs.
- Extensive repairs on fiberglass bathtubs and showers that include reinforcing the support underneath. - What surfaces can you refinish? Show Answer - Bathtubs: porcelain, fiberglass, acrylic, cultured marble, clawfoot tubs
- Countertops: Formica, tile and laminate
- Tile, solid surfaces (Corian®, Silestone® etc), cultured marble
- Ceramic Tile: walls, shower pans, showers, floors - How much money can I save over replacement? Show Answer Refinishing can save you up to 90% over the cost of replacement. Tub replacement starts with a new bathtub, which will typically cost between $375 and $500. However, the total cost to install can be $3,000 or more!
- What kind of repairs can you make? Show Answer Bathtub repair can be performed on porcelain, fiberglass, acrylic or marble surfaces. We can repair chips and cracks.
Tiles that have been chipped can be repaired before refinishing. Missing grout will be replaced before refinishing. Resurfacing has an added benefit of sealing the grout. - How long does it take? Show Answer A standard size bathtub, in reasonable condition, takes only 3 to 4 hours to refinish. The tub will typically be ready to use within 24 hours.
- Is there an odor? Show Answer Urethane finishes contain solvents which are necessary to make the surface hard and durable. We use ventilation fans to exhaust odors and smells from the work area.
Dissipation of the odor depends on a variety of factors including temperature and amount of air moved. Generally, most of the odor leaves within 24-48 hours as the finish completely cures creating a long lasting, beautiful finish!
In the event you are sensitive to paint-like odors, please let us know so we can discuss accommodations for your resurfacing service. - Do you handle plumbing? Show Answer If the plumbing fixtures for the tub or shower can be easily removed with just a few screws, we're happy to handle that for you. Alternatively, we can expertly mask off the fixtures, ensuring the finish comes out perfectly.
Questions About the Finish
- How long will the new glaze coating last? Show Answer With proper care and maintenance, refinishing can extend the useful life of your fixtures, tiles & floors up to 10 years or more.
We use a durable commercial grade coating not available to consumers, and back our quality work with a guarantee. - What colors are available for repainting Show Answer Our primary color of choice is Kohler White, the very same shade used by Kohler for their tubs, toilets, and sinks. Additionally, we offer an array of multispec colors and alternative off-whites. Should you have a specific Sherwin Williams shade in mind, we can also arrange a special order for our coating in that color.
Reglazing colors - How durable is the finish? Show Answer We install the most technologically advanced coatings available. The finishes are designed to stand up to daily use and do not require special care. However, like any bathtub, laminate, tile or hard surface, a reglazed surface can be chipped, cut or burned if it is abused. But no worry, we can easily repair and return a refinished surface to like new.
- Does it require special care? Show Answer You’ll find our care instructions are similar to those for most brand new bathtubs or showers…do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, harsh acids, or bleach. Most bathtubs, sinks and tile become worn and dull due to abrasive cleansers, not from time.

- What about dust or dirt particles stuck on the surface? Show Answer We cannot prevent dust from settling onto the newly refinished surface, as we are not working in a 100% dust-free environment. Sometimes dust, fluff, lint, or even small bugs (flies, butterflies, etc.) might get stuck on the freshly refinished surface.
DO NOT PICK OR TRY TO REMOVE PARTICLES AS THIS MAY DAMAGE THE SURFACE. Most times the lint or fluff can disappear during the first 2-3 weeks when the tub is washed.
